Public Surveillance

< Home

In an effort to better observe the effectiveness of the various ongoing projects, public surveillance methods are being utilized.

Public Places

Surveillance systems that are already in place in many public locations are being monitored remotely to observe public behavior.  However, this has not provided the detailed observations that have been required.  Therefore, additional observation methods have been developed.

Appliance Monitoring
Monitoring devices, microphones and cameras, have been included in consumer appliances.  Any appliance that was manufactured or resold through a secondhand store since October of 2011 have included the monitoring devices.  The method for disabling the monitoring devices remains unchanged.
  • Unplug the appliance
  • Hold the power button
  • Plug in the device
  • Continue holding the power button/switch for 23 seconds
  • Turn the appliance off and on 3 times
  • The monitoring devices will be disabled on the device until it is again disconnected from a power source (including power outages)
